This 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO Art Print is the epitome of cool. I came across this thanks to my fellow GTO FaceBook group members. I purchased a print immediately after seeing this.

FRAMING INSTRUCTIONS:
If you plan to get your new DolanPaperCo art print professionally framed, you don’t need to do anything except leave the print in its original tube or envelope and deliver it to your professional. Delivering your ‘to-be-framed’ print to the framer in its original shipping tube is the safest way to go.

If you plan on framing your print at home, the following instructions are for you! On a clean, flat, smooth, and hard surface, leaving the poly-plastic barrier on the print, place the print face down (opposite of the curl). Place heavy flat objects, such as books, on each corner of the print. Let sit for a couple of hours. Remove the heavy objects from the print and check to see if it’s flat. If it still isn’t flat, leave for a few more hours. Now your print is ready to be framed!

Things to avoid:

• Never use an iron to flatten your rolled print. No matter how many layers there are, you can severely damage your print.
• Never use steam. This isn’t a silk shirt, ya know.
• Never scrape the back of a print over the edge of a table. Similar to flattening a dollar bill that’s about to go into a vending machine.

This movie is mainly a publicity piece to feature the return of an American classic muscle car, the Pontiac GTO. The story was written by Rob Cohen, who was also the director of the movie “The Fast and the Furious” released in 2001. The movie is directed by Guy Norman Bee who is a television director most known for his work on “Third Watch”. 

The movie stars Dennis Hopper (the headliner), Will Patton, Chris Carmack, Nadine Velazquez, and Fred Ward.

PLOT:
In 1970, robber Ronnie Purnell is arrested after a robbery and jailed for more than 30 years. Since Purnell’s wife was killed during the chase with the police, California Highway Patrol Officer Darryl Kurtz took care of their son Aaron. When Ronnie is released from jail, he decides to take vengeance on Darryl. Aaron has also become a cop and doesn’t want to hear about his father anymore, but Aaron’s son Matthew is fascinated by his grandfather’s past and decides to help him to find his old car, a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, in which he stashed a key for a safe containing evidence against Darryl.

REVIEWS:
Variety Magazine was not kind to a movie featuring our favorite car. The day before the movie even aired on television, they had already written an article on how much of a marketing and publicity piece this was by General Motors.

Luckily much time has passed since this article was published, and now the movie is more of a “cult classic” among car enthusiasts and the reviews are much different. It’s a fun popcorn movie. Yes, we know it is a publicity stunt by General Motors to promote the 2004 Pontiac GTO. Yes, we know the movie is not a big box office hit, nor did the movie have a billion-dollar budget like some of today’s movies. But it is still fun to watch our favorite car tear down the streets. Many of the present-day 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO owners and enthusiasts have added this movie to their DVD collection, myself included.

WHERE TO WATCH:
Unfortunately, this movie is not readily available to watch on any of today’s streaming channels and subscriptions. Really the only way to watch this movie is to purchase the DVD. I have found the movie available for purchase on both Amazon and eBay. New copies of the film are hard to come by, but there are plenty of used copies floating around for purchase. The movie is a “Universal Pictures” film company movie. Maybe one day they will bring it to BluRay. (wishful thinking)

I attended the Street Outlaws “No Prep Kings” at Cordova International Raceway. This was my first time at a Street Outlaws event, and I was extremely impressed with how well it was run. The pit area is completely open to the public for a chance to visit with the Street Outlaws. Racers in attendance were Jeff Lutz, Kamikaze, Doc, Kye Kelly, Chuck, Ryan Martin, Lizzy Musi, along with “Stinky Pinky”, and a handful of other non 405 racers.

Every racer had a wonderful set-up pit area complete with a vending area to purchase the souvenirs they offer. The items for sale were reasonably priced in my opinion and well worth the price of admission to pick up items that you will only find at a “Street Outlaws” event.

The main attraction for me was of course was getting a peek at Jeff Lutz and that wicked Pro Mod GTO. Here are some pics of the car:

Lastly, there was no way I was leaving without picking up some Jeff Lutz Pro Mod GTO gear. The shirt is beautifully detailed showing off true GTO pride. And the hat is just plain cool. Utilizing the GTO badging to match the GTO shirt.

They are available in two colors, Black Hammertone, or Red. I went with the red ones to match the theme of my car. These are specifically designed for 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO. They are boxed style and do require welding. Here is the description from BMR:

Subframe connectors tie the frame together from the rear cross member/subframe bushing to the front frame just slightly behind the fenders. Its purpose is to strengthen the frame and make it more solid and rigid. This will prevent the frame from twisting or bending under heavy torque.

The Test Drive: You can really feel the effects of this part add-on. The car does not sway, the back end is definitely firmer, and the car just feels stiffer. It also gives peace of mind knowing the frame of the car is just that much stronger. The car doesn’t drive like a Cadillac, it feels like a race car. Just the way I want it! If I wanted a smooth ride I would have bought a luxury car.
